  • Reversed seared a steak last week and messed with some filters and fixing up some of the image settings of the cook.

    Curious how I did on that in this image editing. 📷

  • My OF restart post yesterday had a couple people suggestion to try out Things 3. Using the 15 day free trial to test things out for me as the year comes to a close.

  • Need to redo my setup in OmniFocus. Just got to be too much for me that I feel like I need to start over. Anyone got advice for a good setup up? Always based mine after the MacSparky field guide suggestion.

    Note: Still on OF2 due to iPad on support only to iOS 10

  • Advent of Code 2019 - Day 1

    Finished Day 1 of the Advent of Code.

    Took me a lot longer to actually program this in python than it should have but eventually got it after reading some of the solutions that I used to make my own. I did learn of how to pull the data from the input.txt file I created with all the values and once I did that it was pretty smooth sailing.

    I’ve created a GitHub repo for this where I’ll include all my solutions for each day. I’ve included them below as well.

    Problem 1 Solution

    with open('input.txt', 'r') as f:
        module_mass = f.readlines()
    def fuel_calculator(mass):
        return (int(mass) // 3) - 2
    fuel = sum([fuel_calculator(x) for x in module_mass])

    Problem 2 Solution

    with open('input.txt', 'r') as f:
    module_mass = f.readlines()
    def fuel_mass_calculator(mass, extra_fuel=0):
        total_fuel = (mass // 3) - 2
        if total_fuel > 0:
            additional_fuel = extra_fuel + total_fuel
            return fuel_mass_calculator(total_fuel, additional_fuel)
            return extra_fuel
    def total_fuel_calculator(mass):
        base_fuel = (int(mass) // 3) - 2
        extra_fuel = fuel_mass_calculator(base_fuel)
        full_fuel = base_fuel + extra_fuel
        return full_fuel
    total_fuel = sum([total_fuel_calculator(x) for x in module_mass])
  • Going to try a participate in Advent of Code - 2019 as a way to continue my programming 👨‍💻 learning, specifically using Python 🐍.

    Will post each day as an individual post on here showing the code I made and also put it on my github.

  • Trying out using the micro.blog platform at least until I get the time to get bbech.com up and running as a blog. After that will probably self host this and figure out where to go from there.
